to be launched by the People’s Health Movement.

COSTITUTIONAL ACT
OF “NURSING
IN MOVEMENT

The project to create an associative professional, ethical and political organ for nurses and other health care workers, with the main aim of promoting health as the fundamental right of man, and peace as the grounds to achieve it, was ideated on October 2004  with the opening of the web site: www.nelmovimento.org.

Nursing in movement shares the contents of some documents drawn up during the last few years by organisations and movements among which: the The people's charter for health (2000), the Erice Declaration, and the Mumbai Declaration (2004).

Nursing in movement condemns the growing health inequality among nations and classes within a nation, the process of the privatisation of health services, the vision of the International Commerce Organisation  (WTO) that classifies health as a merchandise to be consumed like other goods.

It affirms the fundamental role of nursing in the assuring of health, as every person’s right, through all the factors that determine it: political, economic, social and environmental.

By supporting this document the founders announce  the birth of an association of people which calls itself  “Nursing in movement” or “Nim”.

The founders and supporters  share the principles and aims of Nim and  participate in all the initiatives and activities promoted by the group.
